Hi
I am just putting together the equipment that I will bring for the test and fix-it bench at CAT 22 this Sunday.
I plan to bring enough gear to test and diagnose most faults in Portsdown and Ryde equipment. I will also be able to give an indication of the Power Output of transmitters (up to 100W from 50 MHz to 10 GHz) and estimate (+/- 2 dB up to 24 GHz) the noise figure of receiving equipment.
There should be a QO-100 IF feed available for receiver testing.
If anybody has any very specific requests for testing, please post them here.
Remember to bring power supplies and all connecting leads (power and RF) with you as sometimes the faults are in the power supplies or the connectors!

Re: CAT 22 Test and Fix-it
Hi Dave,
Would it be possible to test my POTY (TX side)?
Thanks, t'other Dave.

...are you sure I can't use a pair of 813's?...
Re: CAT 22 Test and Fix-it
PSU fluctuations and effects on the Pluto., Dave please. Trying to make the Pluto less prone to being not found a few minutes after it reported the firmware status.

Re: CAT 22 Test and Fix-it
Dave M5TXJ - I have asked Mike G0MJW to bring his VNA to check your feed. Much better to have the expert check it for you.
David M0YDH - not sure we'll be able to cure your Portsdown Pluto woes, but it will certainly be useful to monitor voltages and what else is going on while we reproduce the problem. That might lead us towards a solution.

Re: CAT 22 Test and Fix-it
I shall bring my POTY for a check on the VNA
I'll also bring a Spectrian 2.4GHz PA which I've tried on the bench with a bit under 1W drive which is not enough to get get full power out (I think I'm getting about 10W out, though it's labelled as having 16dB gain) so if anybody has something which can drive it harder I'd like to find out what it can do and thus what I need to drive it.
