The Old Mill did not have any tables left and the function room we had last year was booked.

However, I've managed to book a table for 15 at 7:30 pm at The Oak just up the road (and where some of you are staying) https://www.classicinns.co.uk/oak-baginton - it's a 15 minute walk from the Old Mill.

I have only booked the table - take a look at the website for special diets and you will need to order from the menu on the night and settle your own bill

For those who have been before, The Oak has been closed and recently re-opened after a revamp and under new management :D

Hi Noel,

to confirm, Julie and I would like to join the dinner party too!

Really confusing that the hotel reservation confirmation in April came from Greene King Inns, but it's branded Chef & Brewer. I guess they must have restructured the company.

Best regards.

Justin.

Hi Noel,
thanks for looking after this. I look forward to the Oak!

As a frequent traveler, I would like to highlight that there appears to be a shortage of catering staff affecting many establishments, including large chain outfits which although advertise food, can't accommodate you once you've arrived.

So if you are planning a night away and want food, I recommend to check with the establishment first before making a booking and don't rely on the website or third-party booking information.

That's a pity, we booked the hotel so we could have the dinner there - be sure to remind the Old Mill management that that was the main reason why we stay there and book so early. They really owed us a table for dinner. Poor form on their side which will not be forgotten in future. However, well done in finding an alternative. I hope to see everyone there.

The Oak's Terms & Conditions talk about booking a menu weeks in advance. No food and a Quiz Night, should make an interesting evening. Anyone for Fish & Chips in the street?

Just realised that I hadn’t formally replied to this - please count me in Noel.

Looks good Noel,

just to let you know our dietary requirements.

I only eat Oysters, Lobster, White Truffle, Royal Beluga Caviar with Kopi Luwak coffeeto follow.

Julie likes bangers & mash.

As I feared, my Saturday logistics won't get me to The Oak in time for dinner, so I'll have to pass on the dinner. Hope someone else can squeeze in in my absence....
See you at MAM bright and early on Sunday.
