Display connector
Display connector
Can the display connector be used? I can't find any description about that.
Re: Display connector
I assume you mean the DSI as the HDMI is obviously supported.
The DSI is not supported in the specification. It might work, it might not. The Winter Hill is built on a PI4 running the standard OS so theoretically it might work in local mode. If it does work, it might not continue to work in future and it isn't supported, unless Brian plans to use it that way. By far the best way to use Winterhill is as a server, rather than a set top box, because although it makes a valiant attempt, the PI4 doesn't really have the CPU capability to reliably display multiple H265 streams.

Re: Display connector
No, I mean the connector on the main PCB
Re: Display connector
There is no display connector on the main PCB!
Re: Display connector
That is a front panel connector, intended to be compatible with the one used by the Ryde. It isn't used by the Winterhill. The main board was intended to have more applications than just Winterhill, one of which could have been a Ryde, set top box style with one tuner. This is why it is called the advanced DATV Receiver and not Winterhill. Nothing has been developed yet, but it could be if someone were to take on the task. We are trying to get away from the expensive FTDI modules and there are a few alternatives. However the goal posts keep moving as new and better chips become available and others go "out of stock" increasingly permanently.

Re: Display connector
Right. My mistake
I intend to build one to add 4x NBTV inputs to our local ATV repeater. It's great to have the four multicast streams.
