just done a plywood test piece. I will be able to finalise the design once i have my own winterhill built
I will be able to do in acrylic for rear panel

I don't think that will fit exactly as the height of the PI on the header might not be exactly right. One you have it built test first.

I used 20mm M2.5 standoffs for my PI but I originally cut the holes for 18mm. I need to shorten the standoffs ever so slightly to get a better fit.

You need holes between the NIMs and maybe to the left side to facilitate air flow past them. Holes in the case under the fan. With the supplied rubber feet keeping it off the deck the air is sucked in through those holes, blown onto the PI and then escapes past the NIMs. Works well in keeping it all cool.

Here's my version of the back panel cutout.

Here's the dxf file for it, reference bottom left corner.

*** note this is with the PI flush up to the 16.6mm 40-pin header which is fully seated onto the board ***

I guess i need to mill a nice hole in the bottom for the fan intake next...

That is a very neat job Rob. You must have a mill, or extreme patience! You need a suitably artistically designed vent under the fan. I look forward to what you come up with. BATC logo? Raspberry Pi logo?

Just for Mike,

I had a go, not too bad result.
The mill is a bit slow for 1.5mm cutter but it worked.

Beautiful. You realise you are going to have to use it upside down from now on in order to appreciate that.

At least the PI will be the right way up. Save you resetting the time zone from Sydney.

Hi All,

My case is now drilled (photo at a later date, suffice to say I am keeping with Mike's triangular ventilation grille).

Just to prove there must be a higher power than I in the universe, this splitter seems to exactly fit in the space in between my two top NIM A F types.
Coincidence, I think not.

I have bought one (Toolstation) to try, but I am going to use two pieces of coax.
