winterhill case?
winterhill case?
any suggestions on a suitable case for the winter hill. Also is there a cad design around for the rear panel. I may be able to laser cut some acrylic for the back panel
Re: winterhill case?
The recommended case is Hammond 1455T1601BU. https://uk.farnell.com/1455t1601bu/ out of stock for 2 weeks.
They also come in red, black and metallic. It's 160x160mm - bigger than the pcb to allow space for future development of a Ryde2 with button board.
There's no CAD for a rear panel as yet.

Re: winterhill case?
Google found jprelec.co.uk
They have the hammond cases, seemingly in stock at similar price.
They also do the 40mm 12v sunon fans too.

Re: winterhill case?
Cases, cases, everywhere....
I just ordered the Winterhill hardware off the BOM (Farnell have a BOM upload facility) and found that these cases are available in natural, Blue, Red and Black.
I used BATC shop, RS, and Farnell. Digikey were also shown as a supplier on the BOM.
I found that I had to split my order over these two suppliers to get "in stock" items. This is just due to changing stocking levels of course.
RS only sell the natural colour whereas Farnell stock all the colours. As of today. Try a Red one as I did, and live dangerously.

Re: winterhill case?
3 large air exit holes between the NIMs will help with the cooling, with a fan beneath the Raspberry Pi blowing upwards, with air entry holes underneath the fan.
Re: winterhill case?
Note that with the recommended case, the NIMs have to be soldered in, as there isn't enough headroom to use sockets.

All good points. I was going to say I had nothing to say on the QO100 net tonight but maybe I will show the one I built so people have an idea.
