CAT 21 - Test and Fix-it Facilities

Post by G8GKQ » Sat Jul 24, 2021 12:53 pm

Hi All

I plan to set up a comprehensive Portsdown/MiniTiouner/Ryde/WinterHill and RF test and fix-it facility at CAT 21.

So that I can plan what to bring, please could attendees let me know what they want to test/fix beforehand? Please just post here with an outline of what you would like to achieve.

One request - please make sure that you bring a mains power supply and all the power/video/RF cables and adapters that you normally use. It makes hooking up to the test equipment so much easier!

Thanks

I've an 8 way RF switch that could benefit from fault finding, Dave. I had to build a new card to restore Portsdown operation.

OK David

Please bring the Portsdown that you are trying to drive it from as well, but no need to bring the whole rack!

I have some 10GHz pipe-cap filters I'd like to tweak onto frequency please. Also a pair of POTY feeds to sweep.
Thanks

I have 'built' a Portsdown/RPI together with a Pluto with I hope the F5OEO firmware. I just need a confidence check at this stage. Have I wrecked my Pluto? Is it outputing anything? I hope to do further tests on 70cm.

Mike - Yes, we will have all the kit to do your confidence check, and any simple remedial action.

Yes Dave. I'll bring just the Portsdown 4 that won the Telford construction competition and some recent builds. I've a second Pluto for SATSAGEN that isn't behaving great and a pair of pipe cap filters for 5.6GHz. (The dead 23cm amp is bound for repairs in Kettering)

I've a fair number of R&S branded project boxes with mains power supplies to sell - see for sale note elsewhere on this forum. Bargain prices. Big enough for all of P4 tx and rx. :D

David

I hope to be there and will have the test gear to fine tune Bullseye LNB oscillators.

I will also have the last few fully assembled alignment boards for sale.

Also happy to help with any Langstone systems.
