Knucker and open source

Post by G4GUO » Tue Mar 30, 2021 6:34 pm

I have been asked this question a number of times and to save it being asked too many more times.

BATC support for the Knucker NIM is based on a modified version of the manufacturers SDK and we
don't have permission to release the parts of the source code not written by us. The SDK includes
tuner code that does not belong to the demodulator manufacturer and I suspect that is why we
have not had permission to release the code.

However there is an open source Linux kernel driver for the demodulator chip so sometime in the future
(personpower allowing) an open source version may be released. The kernel driver code is 95% identical to the SDK.
