BATC Bursary - EMF camp support approved

The following bursary application has been approved:

Project description:
EMFcamp is to quote the website:
"a camping festival with a power grid and high-speed internet access; a temporary village of geeks, crafters, and technology enthusiasts that's lit up by night, and buzzing with activity during the day. Thousands of curious people will descend on our friendly open space to learn, share, and talk about what they love."

A group of amateurs from AMSAT / BATC, including 6 BATC members, are attending and are organising an Amateur Radio village which will be used to demonstrate amateur satellites and DATV primarily on QO100. See https://www.emfcamp.org/about/villages for more details on a village.

Benefits to ATV community:
Publicity of our hobby to thousands of like-minded geeks!!

Total amount of funding requested:
Approximately £350

Details of costs / items:
50% of the cost of hiring a 6mt by 6mt marquee with flooring and chairs and tables to house the demo stations and a small presentation area. AMSAT UK have agreed to fund the other 50% of the cost

That sounds like a great opportunity to promote the hobby.
Perhaps a Radio Truck parked next to the tent with a multi-band DATV station would be allowed? ;-)
