Hi,

Does any one know what the ryde sound stream is, and will decode other forms of sound other than acc, as I can only tx mda audio stream with my setup.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Ryde sound stream' but Ryde uses VLC for sound and vision decoding and can handle just about anything - MP2, MP3, AAC, AC3.

If MDA is "multi-dimensional audio' I don't know about that one. If you have a test file, try it with VLC.

I've recently seen stations using MP3 and AC3 audio, which Ryde and WinterHill don't always identify correctly in the text display, but VLC still decodes it.

Hi Brian,

My mistake it's MPA audio, my problem is the MiniTiouner will work, but when connected to Ryde plus MiniTiouner there is no sound.

Hi,

I should also add the ryde system is trying to decode audio as MP3, not MPA

Do you have access to QO-100 or any other stations to try the Ryde with?

Hi Brian,

All other stations are ok, even the set streams and local repeater are all fine with sound its just my station, whitch is only DVB-S so that could be the problem will do some more testing to see if I can change it.

I tried receiving DVB-S from a DTX1 and the sound was fine on the Ryde.

Can you record your transmission with MiniTioune and post it. 5 seconds worth should be enough.

Hi Brian,

I only have the problem on the Ryde for my own tx all other stations are good, the minitiouner connected to the pc is no problem and decodes sound as mpa and works fine, its just the Ryde that does not decode mpa by the looks of it.

Thanks for your help.

A recording would be helpful for future reference. It should be put in the folder where MiniTioune lives. There are 3 different audio stream types that Ryde identifies as MP3, so it would be useful to know which one is giving problems.

There are differences between the Linux and WIndows versions of VLC, as we've seen with the beacon.
