Ryde HDMI Output

Post by G6MNJ » Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:03 pm

What is the 'out of the box' screen resolution of the Ryde RX or preferably what are hdmi_group and hdmi_mode set to?

Then following on from this what would the Ryde RX do if its output were set at 1280x720 50hz (720p) and it received a signal transmitted at say 1920x1024 would it change the output to match or downscale it to 720p ?

Thanks everyone in advance!

Hi Paul

The Ryde uses whatever screen resolution the Raspberry Pi negotiates with the HDMI display using EDID. It then rescales (up or down) the incoming video to fit the screen, maintaining the incoming aspect ratio.
