Ryde Software Update with RF Power Indication

Post by G8GKQ » Sat Dec 18, 2021 5:03 pm

Thanks to some new code from Tim MW0RUD, I have just released an update to the Ryde Build with the following features:
  • The RF Input Power to the MiniTiouner is displayed in DVB-S/S2. As for the Portsdown it needs to be above -70 dBm and below -35 dBm for best results. It is not generally useful as a received signal strength indication, but should be used to achieve the optimum system gain. See this Wiki description, which is applcable to both the Ryde and the Portsdown https://wiki.batc.org.uk/MiniTiouner_Po ... Indication.
  • The second HDMI port on the Raspberry Pi 4 is now usable as an alternative output if the primary port has a fault. Note that this is not intended as a duplicate output, just an alternative to overcome hardware failures.
  • The Red and Blue buttons on the Fortec Star Remote Control can now be used to control audio volume.
This update is also described in CQ-TV 274.

To get the update, go to the ssh console menu and select the update option.
