Hi Jim

Yes, just delete them from the file /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml

haha I like the word "just" - I have now a steep learning curve in file editing - luckily I can rebuild the card when everything goes horribly wrong! and it already has!

I used reset factory defaults and it works again - I will keep trying - I used to be OK with MS-DOS and GWbasic but now I have to learn another language as well as greek!

I managed to remove all the presets except DVB-T and renumbered them 01 and 02 , then I changed the default channel to 437 and 333khz bandwidth -
seems to start up every time on that channel!

If it's of any use Robert, I just "commented out", rather than deleted, the 1255MHz channel entries (I don't yet have 23cm), to shift the new DVB-T pre-sets into sight as it were. It's probably a good idea to copy the original config.yaml file to something like config.yaml.ORIG so you can retrieve it if things go horribly wrong. It'll save you having to rebuild the SD card at least,

I logged into the Ryde via SSH (using PuTTY) and entered the command...

cp /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml.ORIG

(this does the file copying)

...I then then typed...

sudo nano /home/pi/ryde/config.yaml

and inserted # at the start of the lines I wanted to be ignored. Let's see if I can add a picture to illustrate...

When you're happy with the editing you press <CTRL> X and then type Y to save the changes then press return to save the file name and exit the nano editor. Be careful not to add any extra spaces into any of the lines you want to keep; YAML is very fussy about indenting.

Yep all good Martin and thanks

That was the plan just to # them out and see what happens
Not much of Linux user so to speak Just ;)
But it's all good fun.

Cheers

Thanks Martin, Worth adding this 'how to' to the Ryde wiki docs perhaps, worked for me just now. Don't want the 1000kS on the menu really and that brought the two 'T's into view.

Thanks for that Martin - saves me having to do it again to show what I did!
There is a lot of key switch contact bounce on the keypad when fitted so it is definitely an art in itself to use the front panel keypad - has anyone else come across this and come up with a solution - remote works fine

Hi Jim,
Yes I have the key bounce too, not solved so I use the handset.
