Hi,
Today a new question as i wasn,t able to figure out myselves..
I wonder if i would be able to get a different image on the display when the ryde is not receiving anything..

Preferably a Jpeg or even a foto library but anything else than that nasty red screen...

Any idea how this could be done..

It is rendered on the fly in states/playback.py based on the system state.

There is already an issue open about adding more options for that screen but it is not a high priority: https://github.com/eclispe/rydeplayer/issues/44

You could use the received signal output GPIO pin to switch the video output to something else.
I have written a python program for an arduino that controls relays using the GPIO received signal pin. This works with upto 4 Rydes and selects a quad output if more than one RX signal. I also put in some code that safely turns the RPis off and back on when needed.
This is for GB3NQ in the future.
Arduinos and relay boards are cheap and you could even switch the HDMI signal with enough relays! 16 on a cheap board.
