Announcing: Ryde Utils
Posted: Tue Feb 23, 2021 11:25 pm
Ryde Utils is a set of useful tools I've been building to support Ryde and are available here: https://github.com/eclispe/ryde-utils
At the moment they are only provided on GitHub so you will need to install the dependencies and clone the repository onto your Ryde from the console. They have been tested running on a Raspberry Pi 4 but they will likely run on other operating systems but I don't have access to test it.
Ryde Network Console Handset This lets you push buttons on the Ryde using a keyboard over the network. Useful for long distance remote control or if you haven't built an IR or GPIO interface yet.
Tuner FTDI module configuration utility This lets you program the FTDI 2232H modules from the Pi. Useful if you don't have easy access to Windows or want to program multiple modules quickly. It has all the configurations internally so you don't need to keep track of finding the right config to use. It is important to note that running this while Ryde is running will cause Ryde to lose connection to the tuner.
If anyone works out how to run these on platforms other than the Pi let me know and I will update the README.
Hope these are useful.
