Hi there,
I have running the ryde software for some weeks now.
I have a smal hdmi touchscreen connected to the Pi4.
I have 2 smal problems witch keeps bothering me.
1. first problem is the startup.
it never works in 1 go. After applying power to both MT express, screen and Pi4 it boots nice and gives me nice sound but no picture...
i allways need to restart the app via the remote.
after restarting the software runs flawless for hours...
2. my screen is filled with the red screen of not locked.
Its a 16:9 screen and all seems wel but all pictures are squeesed with a black band both top end bottem.
No matter what size is been transimitted.
even the mute simbol is in the black top right.
So how should i get the complete screen filled...
These minor issues are just my loss but a solution would be appreciated...

Re: display size
Morning Benno,
you could try to force HDMI mode in your config.txt at your RPi:
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=16
hdmi_drive=2
(see https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... t/video.md for details)
Maybe the overscan parameters are active, so comment them out.
Let me know, it that works for you...

Re: display size
Hi Benno
The "No video at start" is a VLC problem that I have seen before on the Portsdown. I had not seen it on the Ryde before. I'll have a think about it.
Please could you give us as much information about your display as possible? Including running
from the command line to see what the system thinks about it.
Thanks
Dave

Re: display size
Thanks all for the support...
Dave, i typed the command in putty
pi@Raspberry:~ $ tvservice -s
state 0xa [HDMI CUSTOM RGB lim 4:3], 720x576 @ 50.00Hz, progressive
I will try Thorstens advice but lack some info where to find the config.txt...
Need some more searching...
I will also make a smal video on startup if i ever get my bench cleaned up...
Thanks sofar.

Re: display size
Hi Benno
From Putty, you can edit config.txt with the command:
Use ctrl-x and then y and enter to exit and save.
Not sure that Thorsten's settings will work for you. You could try
But I'm afraid trial and error,(and lots of reboots) is required

Re: display size
Thanks dave...
Found my best results...
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=85
hdmi_drive=2
This tells my pi that i am using a monitor (group 2) and for this group there is a seperate mode set...
82 1920x1080 60Hz 16:9 1080p
83 1600x900 60Hz 16:9 reduced blanking
84 2048x1152 60Hz 16:9 reduced blanking
85 1280x720 60Hz 16:9 720p
And just to be sure i needed the drive on 2...
Now all stations are full screen and 16:9..
OSD still fine...
I'll try next few days the startup as it looks solved as well but that may just luck...
Best regards

Re: display size
Hi Benno,
ah, ok no FHD, but HD.
I think group 2 mode 85 is the same as group 1 mode 4.
Nevertheless, great that you got fullscreen now
