MiniTiouner Pro2

Post by DL5BCA » Fri Jul 17, 2020 4:11 pm

Hi erverybody,
I had the quiet hope that my MiniTouiner Pro 2 (also NIM FTS-4334) would also work ..
Unfortunately there is a red screen with "Not Locked" at the HDMI output.

Is the Pro2 not running or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Thomas

Colin G4KLB reported earlier in the week that his MiniTiouner Pro 2 worked perfectly with the Ryde.

If you are getting "not locked" indications with the text output that you have posted, my first question is do you need LNB voltage? In which case, you have not turned it on.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the answer.

Is the first Time i use Ryde.
Just saw it one day bevor yesterday.

At Minitiouner Pro V2 the LNB voltage is set by software.

I cannot use the ir. .

OK Thomas

We'll be releasing a version that uses buttons connected to the GPIO in a few days, or you could rig up something on the IR? All the details are here https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Ryde_remote_controls

Hello Dave,

thank you for your answer.

now i built an IR-Sensor (with 100R resitor) at the raspberry.

I checked the IR sensor with the scope. Signals can be seen typing on my Octagon SF8008 remote control.

Unfortunately nothing happens on the Rasperry.

What irritates me about my log are the following errors:
Handset has no button definitions
Handset has no button definitions

and

['dejavuserif', 'dejavusansmono', 'freesans', 'dejavusans', 'freeserif', 'freemono']
[02887828] vlcpulse audio output error: PulseAudio server connection failure: Connection refused
[02897580] vlcpulse audio output error: PulseAudio server connection failure: Connection refused
Unknown IR codes:
['VOL +', 'VOL-', 'CHAN +', 'CHAN-']

Now my TV shown "LongMynd Not Loaded"

I will test to produce a 1.5 MBs Signal on 741.500MhZ with my Pluto... Perhaps it works...

Hallo Dave,

so, it works.

I set up the SD-Card again.
Then I discovered the menu via SSH ..
I had overlooked it in the classic way ...

I set the correct remote control and was able to operate the receiver.

At the moment I just have no sound ... That will surely still have to be adjusted ..

Can I also connect 2 Raspberry with the MiniTouiner Pro ... 2 USB cable 2 Raspberry?
That would be great.

Will there be a separate version for repeater?

Hi Thomas

Pleased that you got there in the end.

Sound should be on the HDMI signal. We are sorting out sound from the audio jack, but have a change to make in the software to get it to work properly.

There will be no separate repeater version. We are developing the standard version so that it can be used as a repeater receiver.

This version of the Ryde will only work with a single tuner (and single signal).

Hello Dave,

thank you for your answer.

it may be that I have no sound, because of the displayed error?:
[02887828] vlcpulse audio output error: PulseAudio server connection failure: Connection refused
[02897580] vlcpulse audio output error: PulseAudio server connection failure: Connection refused
I found such problems in google. I try to fix it.

Did I read somewhere that repeaters can search for signals of different bandwidth on one frequency?
Then we could display all bandwidths with one setting.

I had edited the config file (changing the frequency) and could no longer display the menu on the TV. I have now rewritten the SD card, it works again.

I think the development is really great.

Have a nice Sunday ... I'm looking forward to the update.

Hi Thomas

The vlcpulse audio output error messages are normal with VLC in this configuration. Please try a different HDMI display.

We hope to add scanning for multiple (selected, pre-defined) SRs in a future version, but have not implemented it yet.

You should be able to change the default frequency in the config file without problems (I have done it), but you need to use a Linux text editor and maintain the file format.

Dave
