I have read out or learned a remote control.

Here is the details for the Phoenix satellite RX remote control
---
name: Phoenix Remote
driver: nec
buttons:
POWER: 0x15f
UP: 0x118
DOWN: 0x146
LEFT: 0x141
RIGHT: 0x149
SELECT: 0x145

FOUR: 0x155
FIVE: 0x159
SIX: 0x15d
SEVEN: 0x154
EIGHT: 0x158
NINE: 0x15c
And Photo
I went to the directory mentioned in the intructions with
cd /home/pi/RydeHandsets/definitions
then used nano to cut and paste the above into a file.
I then cheated by saving the file as virgin.yaml
This means it comes up with the right remote without changing anything else.
It might be easier, if you are having trouble to setup your spare remote, just to use nano to edit virgin.yaml with your details (from menu item 7 )and try that.

Re: IR Remote Controls for the Ryde Receiver
Thanks for the new remote Keith.
Please could you rechceck the protocol (driver) that it uses? It is probably nec, but could be rc5.
Thanks
Dave

Re: IR Remote Controls for the Ryde Receiver
I came across this from the Pi Hut
It would make it easier for people to just plug in rather than make something! IF it worked.
I know nothing
I built the IR RX and that is fine.
Just thought I would throw this in there....
The link I came across is https://thepihut.com/products/flirc-usb ... spberry-pi

Re: IR Remote Controls for the Ryde Receiver
Hi,
I've been trying to use the Samsung_32 remote from the build. However, although it works for my Samsung remote it would not select the "menu" button.
On investigating this I found that the code used for the "menu" button is incorrect. The code is 0x7071d in the remote .yaml file but my remote uses 0x7071a. Are there 2 types of Samsung remotes or is this a mistake in the yaml file?
Editing this button to 0x7071a makes the remote work ok.
Has anyone else suffered the same problem using the Samsung_32 profile?
