IR Remote Controls for the Ryde Receiver

Post by G8GKQ » Wed Jul 15, 2020 5:13 pm

The BATC wiki contains details of the Infrared remote controls supported by the Ryde https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Ryde_remote_controls

It also contains details on how to add your own custom remote control - if you build a handset.yaml file for a new remote control for the Ryde Receiver, please post details here. If you can include a photo of the remote as well, that could help other users.

As an example, here is the file for the Nebula Remote that I use.

Code: Select all

name: NEBULA USB DTV
driver: rc-5
buttons:
    POWER: 0x0d
    UP: 0x16

    LEFT: 0x18
    RIGHT: 0x19
    SELECT: 0x1a

    MENU: 0x15

    SEVEN: 0x07
    EIGHT: 0x08
    NINE: 0x09
    MUTE: 0x26
    VOLUP: 0x1d
    VOLDN: 0x1e
    CHUP: 0x1b
    CHDN: 0x1c

Can someone please provide a tutorial on how to build the code lists for remotes.. many of those listed are nigh on impossible to obtain in the US and eBay shipping, thanks to the global distribution center, is extremely slow and unreliable - my last few orders either disappeared or arrived damaged.

Hi Andy

For now, the easiest thing is to select an existing remote file with the same protocol and edit it. Basic instructions here - will be updated in the next day or 2. https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Ryde_remote_co ... te_control
