I was wrong this m/c is not behind the DNS

Connected direct to master router and I get lots of this..

I will check router settings and see if something has been set by mistake.

I thought apart from the Pi-Hole that is my DNS it was clear.

At least I know where to look now

Router is set to unrestricted and it is failing to download as above.
Ordered a card from the shop
I will get to the bottom of this though when I have more time.

To test your Internet and RPi you could try loading the standard operating system with desktop and see if that works. If it does then start again with Ryde software from formatted SD card.

I had problems with software for Ryde. In my case it was caused by using the Three 3G network via a dongle in the router for the internet connection. It always corrupted the download for some reason, but was OK with the Portsdown downloads.

I solved this by switching back to TalkTalk for downloads which although much slower worked OK.

I now do not update the SD cards using the built in features. I now just create a new card and swap it with the existing one. If it does not work I can just swap the SD cards back. Takes longer, but at least you have a working card available if required.

I will have another go tonight but did order a card from BATC.

Buster came down OK

Not sure how you format a SD in windows after it has the linux RPi image etc set up.

To reformat a SD Card with Windows use SD Card Formatter.

What a Difference a day makes..........................

Did not reformat the card just ran install again and ...................... no unreachable errors.. it works..........

I spent............... hours pulling my hair out on Sunday trying to download the Ryde s/w
I went through my router settings etc.. etc...
How many times I lost count.
Every time the same.
How Dave managed to download it threw me, so I can only conclude that either Raspbion have different repositories in different areas of the country or there was some other breakdown.

I know that she who must normally be obeyed was getting scared of me Hi Hi.
I was not in a good mood

Ordered a new SD card and a BATC flashed card Sunday so if anyone wants a BATC flashed card let me know:-)

Too much wine last night to do any more tests but it all looked good.
