23cm and 70cm driver kits update

Post by g8gtz » Fri Nov 23, 2018 8:53 am

John G4BAO posted this on the UK Microwave group:
Hi folks
100 PCBs for these kits should leave China on the 26th of November, and the other components are in so expect delivery early - mid December if you've already pre ordered.
Plenty of 70cm kits in stock for immediate delivery.
Details and ordering info at www.g4bao.com.

Apologies I was not aware that was the case. No mention of it on his website.
Anyway problem sorted, for some reason NTLWORLD email adresses were being blocked.
All sorted now and order placed :)

Hi Folks
I now have plenty of stock of both the 23 and 70cm driver board kits if anyone wants to order one. Kit details, prices and ordering details are on www.g4bao.com.

If you are not in the EU, email me first for shipping costs and options.

Is there any interest in a 147MHz version? I have a rough prototype but it needs some work and tweaking. It will fit the 70cm PCB so no new boards needed. I don't look at Forums (Fora?) very often so email me direct if there is any interest and I'll take a look at it again in the New Year.

Hi John,

I am not sure about a 2m version as there are so many other options for the band, mind you there are plenty of options on 70/23 too so perhaps that's not a factor. What about 13cms with EsHail etc? Is the technology getting too difficult, requiring special substrates?

On 4m-23cm I am using Mitsubishi modules from the RA series. They only need a few mW drive and can be driven directly from the Portsdown/Express and from Lime/Pluto with a modamp. Good for 3W of DATV or quite a bit more FM/CW/SSB. As the Mitsubishi modules are now EOL, we need something to replace those.

I am using the 23cm driver direct from the Portsdown and get a clean 100-200mW out which I use to drive a ancient 5 watt SSB Electronics PA to 1-2 watts ..Works well into GB3ZZ from Taunton...PA is an easy build ...arrived in the post at 10am working before dark!
