John G4BAO has recently posted the following:
My new 3W SSB/CW, 500mW DATV 70cm driver board kit is now available.
See www.g4bao.com for details and how to order.
Please make sure you use the ordering email oscarmax42@ntlworld.com for PayPal! Otherwise your money will go in to a black hole, never to be seen again and you won't get a kit!
G8GTZ says:
I have tested one of these on the output of a Portsdown with a 3dB pad in circuit and can confirm they will produce +27 dBm (500 milliwatts) with 30 dB shoulders (as shown in the picture) so make a very useful driver or low power PA stage for DATV.
Without the pad it produces +29 dBm but with 25 dB shoulders so it advised that the Portsdown is always used with a 3dB attenuator or long piece of co-ax before the amplifier.

Noel (or John, if he's watching)...
Are these complete kits (apart from the tinplate box), I.e. PCB, all components and connectors?

Re: G4BAO driver amplifier
Hi Folks.
The kit's PCB has an input PI attenuator using 0603 resistors on its input. It comes with the parts for a 3dB pad but you can fit whatever attenuator from 0 to whatever you like with suitable resistors or a zero ohm link.
I will be bringing kits to Martlesham at a special UKuG/BATC member's only price of £25 cash (no cheques/or paypal) and Alan G3NYK will have a supply of tin plate boxes and connectors. I'd appreciate it if you'd email me (john@g4bao.com) before Friday of this week if you are planning to buy a kit so I can make sure I make up enough during Friday to avoid disappointment.
