update of langstone-v2

Post by oe6rke » Sat Mar 09, 2024 8:59 pm

Hi,

any plans to bring Langstone-v2 to the latest buyseye or bookwork raspberry? I tried by myself but stuff on graphic driver cooperation (failing /dev/fb0). would be great if you would consider the update or pointing me to the correct direction in matter of graphic support and bgra image creation.

many thanks in advance for considering,

Extremely unlikely in the short term. Maybe one day in the future.
If they are no longer supporting the frame buffer then it would be a lot of work to convert. As Langstone is designed to be an appliance and not a computer, there is no benefit to updating the operating system.

understood and full ok to me. since a small group is going to use langstone for optical communications via sound cards we were looking to the most recent gnuradio which implied a newer os.

That sounds an interesting project Robert. Are you planning to publish what experiments you are doing?
