Langstone frequency lock
Langstone frequency lock
Just assembling the bits together and putting my Langstone together.
I am using an arduino interface for the rotary frequency control.
This interface also allows the use of push buttons for left right control and a frequency lock.
The rotary encoder I have decided to use also has push function
This can be usefully used as the lock function rather than a seperate push button

Re: Langstone frequency lock
Nice. If I would have the knowledge of today i would have forgotten the 2 buttons.
And yes the lock button is very nice. But I select mutch faster the number on the touchscreen than using the buttons left or right.
I hardly use the 2 buttons. Only during setup they sometimes come in handy.

Thanks Benno
Thats useful to know
I had my bits all across the bench so had to be careful touching the screen.

Re: Langstone frequency lock
You can either touch the individual frequency digits to select them or use the left and right buttons. It is really a personal preference.

Re: Langstone frequency lock
Yep - I never use the hardware buttons and if I built again would not include them in the design...

Arduino Left right buttons More
Having said I had been convinced they would not be needed I am now not so convinced.
Its still on the bench in bits but I am erring the other way..
I thought I would set it all up for QO100.
This involves setting an Offset for TX and RX
Touching the screen did not seem to work in moving the curser to the lower or upper integers and the buttons had to be used.

Re: Langstone frequency lock
In the settings menus you can still move the cursor by touch but you need to touch the large frequency digits and not the small settings digits.
Not as intuitive but it keeps the software simple to only have the one set of touch zones.
