Bad Sound

Post by DL5BCA » Fri Nov 26, 2021 4:09 pm

Hi there,

after a while I brought the Langstone project out again.
Both the Portdown and Langstone versions have been updated.
I gave the Pluto the firmware FIRM2101RC of 5 February 2020 from https://wiki.batc.org.uk/File:FIRM2101RC.zip.

I was able to work the local repeater (500m away) with the Pluto and small antennas a few months ago and it worked satisfactorily.

Now I try the same thing, but the send and receive signals sound completely scratched.
With both FM and SSB.
I already suspect that the USB sound card is defective.

Can one event. set something else? Anyone have an idea?

Hello Thomas,

A faulty sound module is the most likely reason.

Hello Colin,

I had installed the firmware on the Pluto, which is specified in the wiki.
That didn't work for me.
Then I installed the firmware from 02/20/2021 and set it to "Thrue" on the web interface.
So the TX and RX work here.

I don't know why that didn't work before.

Anyway, that's how it works.

Stay healthy
