Rev-C Pluto degraded receive sensitivty

Post by kc0tyd » Mon Mar 22, 2021 3:54 am

Has anyone else done an A/B comparison of the Rev-C Pluto versus the Rev-B Pluto?

I have tested a brand new Rev-C Pluto at 618 MHz and can just barely hear a signal at -97 dBm.

The Rev-B Pluto presents a Very hearable signal at -136 dBm [ the lower limit of my sig gen], using the same RPi4 and Langstone firmware.

Any thoughts?
Regards,
Jim

I don’t have one of the new revisions to test. However looking at the published schematics the only difference in the Input circuit is the addition of an ESD protection diode. I wouldn’t expect that to have such an effect.
