Portsdown 4 /Langstone build bandswitching

Post by M5TXJ » Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:45 pm

Hi all,
Combined build is progressing slowly but I've now got a question. This is probably very obvious but I'm possibly confusing myself. On the GPIO there is the Portsdown D0, D1 and D2, there is also the Langstone D0-D7 (some shared). I'm hoping to use a BATC 8 way switch, do I use the Portsdown data bit pins and simply map the Langstone "band bits" to give a comparable output? Hopefully someone has done this already and can point me in the right direction.

...are you sure I can't use a pair of 813's?...

Hi Dave

Yes, just use the Portsdown D0, D1 and D2 Band bits, and set the Langstone to give the right patterns on those bits. The extra Langstone bits are there to allow the use of non-BATC switching boards.

Thanks Dave

That makes sense.
