Hi Malcolm.

The file is /boot/config.txt

Remove or comment out the line
lcd_rotate=2

This is added by default when you do an install as I thought most displays needed it. That may not be the case.

the new audio dongle arrived yesterday!
now it seems it's OK!
generated a 144.870 FM signal (1kHz tone, 3 kHz deviation) and received perfectly well: the tone is clear now.
attached a picture of the screen: is the waterfall correct?

Claudio

PS
also upgraded to the last version.

Hi Claudio,

That is good news.
Yes, the waterfall is correct for a constant FM tone.

Waiting on a couple (1 each) of the Pluto PTT boards from the BATC shop I went looking for the small reed relay used on one of them. eBay has them at 1/2 Farnell price , or better, including the DPNO version https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hamlin-HE722 ... SwFV1bKmuR
Looking at the PCB (not got one in hand yet) the package will fit the board, but are the spare pads isolated or already commoned (i.e. could be joined, then you have double the current capability).
I've also got possibly 100+ Pickering branded mercury wetted relays off some switcher unit that I bought for the box (£1 :-) and although they come off a logic board they only just pull in on 5 volts, so possibly not reliable. Shame.
Which to order......

Hi Gareth,

got mine from CPC. Search for SW03255, 95p each + the usual VAT.

Note that at the moment the Langstone does not control the Pluto digital outputs, so the Pluto PTT board will not work. Currently the PTT output and band select bits are only available on the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins.

If I can find out how to control the Pluto outputs I will add it to the code.

Using the Pi GPIO of course means you can use the P'down 4 and 8 way RF switch and PTT steering.

Or even make it ready for some interesting developments in the future :D

Make sure you order one with the back EMF suppression diode integrated or add a diode to the pads included for the purpose, otherwise it's a one shot device.

Actually it won’t be easy to add control of the Pluto GPIO pins. It looks like they can’t be controlled over the network using the standard Libiio driver. Only by a program actually running on the Pluto.
