Langstone on the air

Post by g8gtz » Sun Apr 12, 2020 8:20 am

Neil G4LDR reports:
Used my Langston on air for the first time last Sunday during the UKuG low bands contest to access the 2300MHz segment of the 13cm band (using it on 124MHz to drive my 144MHz to 2320MHz transverter). I have also tested it on bands from 4m to 6cm and it seems to work okay. Thanks Colin.

Now I need to box it up and build filters and PAs for each band.

I used mine for five 9cm qsos on the UKuG low band contest and four 9cm qsos on the UKAC the previous Tuesday. I used it to drive a 5W mitsubishi amp on transmit and had a demi preamp on receive (no filtering but just retuned a Collins copper filter for next time).

It is a bit precarious balanced on a cardboard box, the mouse kept getting snagged so just started putting it in a metal box.

Also used it to receive the 5.6GHz GB3OHM beacon.
