Hi Alex,

The project only supports the Raspberry Pi touchscreen at the moment.
To keep the code simple the hardware needs to be kept under control. Especially at this early stage.

Maybe later someone will adapt it for other displays.

Colin

Great, no issue. Another toy to look for.

hmmm ... what if we could connect an hdmi in parallel ?!?
either for just duplicate the touch screen ...
or for using the second screen for a digimode software
the rpi should have enough power to also use a digimode in parallel
freedv could be added (usb/lsb/cw/fm/freedv)
or other digimodes (cw decoder and keyer ... psk rtty etc)

Langstone Squared? (2 Langstones in a two-way??).

Just had a two-way SSB QSO on 70.205MHz with Martin G4FKK. Nothing special there except we were both using Langstones each end :D

Noisy band my end :-(

Hello, everyone
Just assembled one, but difficulties with audio
I've got several USB Dongles , Blue ones like, shown in picture
Allthough recognized by the Linux, Langstone does not start up properly
Can you specify for which dongle it is written ?
There seems to be quite a difference
Tnx 4 answer

Hi,

It is written to use one of these

But some people have used other types. It may be necessary to edit the files Lang_TX.py and Lang_RX.py to change the device name. It is currently set to ‘ HW:Device ‘
If you log into your Pi and enter ‘ aplay -L ‘ it should give a list of device names. Look for the ones that start ‘ HW: ‘

Collin,

Tnx for answer, yep, did the trick..

in the python scripts you are looking for "hw:CARD=Device, DEV=0"

but the 3D dongle was named "hw:CARD=Set,DEV=0", so I changed, and rerun'd with succes

Now I have noise, for ex on FM, but the Sound = chopped in a freq of 3-4 Hz.. is this normal ?

Hi JP,

No the sound should not chop. Someone else had a similar problem and eventually replaced the Dongle.
It may be that some dongle sample rates are not very accurate. That can cause chopping of the audio because it runs out of samples.
At the moment I do not know how to fix that problem!.

hi Jemp,
the dongle I used is exactly the same as yours...
with the suggested one it's ok now.
unfortunately the UK ebay shop where I bought it lists another model now!
