Hi Joe

You can order a Portsdown 4 card, and then load the Langstone software: M3, Langstone Config, Install Langstone V2. After reboot, select M3, System Config, Start-up App, Boot to Langstone.

Then it will be a Langstone whenever you turn it on.

Hi Joe

From Langstone, simply select "SET" and then "SHUTDOWN". After that you can safely disconnect the power.

Hello to all..
I'm building the langstone project and tell now i finished with the 7" and pluto working and i can transmitt, now i like to connet the MCP23017 i2c expander but the SCA and SDA are used for the screen so i put it with the same connections of the MCP23017 i2c expander but when i switched on the unit it begen to go TX and RX alone...can any one has an idea what is wrong please..

From Colin's git hub page:

When using the MCP23017 module Port B will output the 8 band select bits. Port A bit 0 will be the PTT input, Port A bit 1 will be the Key input and Port A bit 7 will be the Tx Output.

So what have you got connected to Port A bit 1 ? Do not leave it floating.

I added this expander to my PD4/Langstone and from memory, I used a diode OR from the two sources to control my PTT relay. This isolated the two signals from each other and everything worked as I wanted. Just a couple of1N4001.

So you left the input floating? Don't do that. Tie it up or down with a resistor. Remember the rule to never leave a high impedance input unterminated.

There is a weak internal pull up, but I don't know if it is enabled and better to do it properly. Here is the data sheet:

Hi Mike
Many thanks my fried yes it's my fault as i left every pin open.. i will put a ik pull up to the 3.3v supply and see as i am using the 8 relay board
with the opto cuplers as you can find them from any were on the internet i bought it from AliExpress so the relays will control the band coaxial switches so i will be isolated from the Pi..
