This maybe related or another symptom of the "waterfall freeze" thread.
My Langstone is Pi5 with "proper" Pluto and suggested USB sound dongle and no tinkering by me.
The system works well and barefoot hears local repeaters etc. However after a while demanded frequency changes are met with a red Pluto not responding followed by the change and then after a few more changes or a band change press the waterfall freezes. The screen buttons still work and some attempts at band change do get the not responding message. The exit and shutdown buttons work.
I have tried a different known working in another lnagstone pluto.... I have tried powering the Pi and Pluto from separate 5v supplies.
I have not redone a new sd card.
Open to any suggestions (including polite indications of "daftness" on my part)

Re: Pluto not responding alert
If you are powering the Pluto via the u-usb from the RPi5, check your supply voltages. Certainly with a Pi4 it likes 5.25V, the pluto will be very unreliable at that level. Fitting a 1A universal shokoty (sp) diode into the positive line in the usb cable fixes it.
