The pi is a pi5 and I did build the sd card from the info on the Wiki. Just in case I have made a mistake I will build another card and give that a try.

It may be that Raspberry Pi have changed something in the firmware.

I will try to find the time to check the installation tomorrow.

I have been experimenting today and can confirm that the screen rotate does not seem to work in the command line environment. I thought it did when I tried it some weeks ago but it looks like I was mistaken.

This is nothing to do with the Langstone software, it seems to be an common problem. Searching online produces lots of suggestions, but none of them seems to have any effect.

Even the instructions on the official raspberry pi LCD page don't seem to work.

So, at the moment, I can't suggest a fix.

Hi Colin
Thanks for confirming the screen rotate issue . I can modify the build to turn the 7inch screen.
The V3 with the HackRF one performs well on receive. Now to proceed with TX testing with a good analyzer.

Hi Colin

Using the recommended drivers on a RPi 5, it does not appear possible to rotate the screen.

The solution that I have had to adopt for Portsdown 5 is to paint the screen upside down.

Hi Dave, that's the same conclusion I have arrived at. I guess I could add an option to invert the screen in the code but it's a bit of a hassle. It's annoying that something useful has been removed from the drivers.

Hi Colin
I have managed to modify the build with the screen inverted and no longer have a problem with the display.

I have now added the option to invert the screen into the Langstone V3 settings.

If your screen is the wrong way up just go to the set menu and find "Screen Rotate". Turn the Tuning Knob and the screen should flip upside down.

This setting is saved in the config file.
