Hi all
My chinese driver amp has died so I am looking for a better solution to increase the gain of my Lime mini USB.

I have measured the output on my HP 436A and it is about -7 dbm (0.19W) qhen set to a sym rate of 33, FEC 9/10 and gain 100
Using latest Portsdown 4 and connected to USB " of pi.

With the failed amp and driving this into my AMSAT driver amp, I get 16dbm (40mW)

I have ordered another AMSAT UK Amp to make as a driver ie, two AMSAT UK amps but wondered what others use to get this tiny output from the lime up to something useable for driving a bigger amplifier?
TIA

These little MHL21336 amp modules are quite cheap (were ~£8 but now ~£15), can give 200mW at 2.4GHz with a bit of fiddling.
Maybe not the answer you were hoping for but is an option, they do run off 28v though.

Here's a photo of one I cobbled together a while back but gives a nice clean 100mW DATV for my QO100 Tx.
The strips of pcb on the input/output act as matching to improve things, a good 25dB gain if I remember correctly.
