3D printed case for LimeSDR Mini
Re: 3D printed case for LimeSDR Mini
Hi Gareth,
I am extremely well pleased with the design and quality of the case. It fits neatly and gives the necessary support to the USB connector.
Many Thanks

Aahh, yes, OK. The designer does mention that he made that part a bit longer. Hopefully it will sit fine on an extension. NIce handy little fan too, do you have a link to that?

I also filed a small amount off the one I printed.

Wonderful process, even more so if you can drive the CAD (learning to ATM). I wonder if the original designer only used USB 2?
£12 in donations paid to the BATC today, thanks everyone, it all helps the hobby progress.

Thanks for the case Gareth. It required a little paring around the aperture and location lugs with a sharp craft knife for my Lime mini to fit.

The fan is on order. I remembered this tweet by John G7JTT identifying the pads for the fan connections73

Re: 3D printed case for LimeSDR Mini
Pictured is my encased Lime mini after altering the case to take the 2 pin connector for the fan and make some headroom for the connector to the breakout board. (See GPIO pins thread). I shaved about 1.5mm off the inside of the two bars nearest the fan that make up the ventilation grille.
If anyone has the .stp file I'll alter the case in CATIA at work.
Thanks to Gareth for the parts.

Nice little milliwatt meter. Homebrew?

That's the Heathermeter, Gareth. The GQRP club shock and awe project for their 2017 Buildathon in Telford was not a direct conversion receiver , Heather M0HMO designed an original multiband power meter with an Arduino in it. I put my finished example in a diecast box with a decent heatsink. 437MHz is its top frequency.

It would be nice if it were a metal case. Is 3D printing in metal affordable yet?
