Lime SDR Mini

Post by g8vpg » Sat Dec 16, 2023 3:34 pm

I have just received a Lime SDR Mini from Crowd Supply and they are now in stock at $399. I've done a brief test and it works well with the Portsdown.

Further to my message above, I have discovered two things;
1. The FPGA in the version 2 is different and it will not run the LimeDVB firmware. However it works OK if you select output to Lime mini.
2. The RF output on my example is about 30dB down on the version 1 on identical settings. I have sent a query to Lime Microsystems, but I wonder if anyone else has noticed this?

Hi Shaun

The RF output on my LimeSDR Mini V2 is almost exactly the same level as the V1.

Have you run a recent (since 30 Nov 23) update on your Portsdown? The LimeSDR Mini V2 needs updated drivers which are installed by the update process.

Dave,
Thank you. I have one card that is older and that may be the problem. However, I wrote a new one last week and the boot to TX and keyed TX options are no longer there.

As a follow up to this thread, I have now written new cards with the latest software prepared by Dave and the RF output level is as expected.
