12 v Linear Power Supply for LNA

Post by kreeve » Sun Jan 26, 2025 5:12 pm

Hello,

Need some expertise on a suitable 12v Linear Power supply to be used with an LNA or what to look for.

After some research we have chosen a Fairview Microwave LNA.

125 ma is the spec max current.

What are you using and what tips do you have for finding one that is filtered without minimal noice. I am not finding any info if the 12v input on the LNA has any filtering.

Thank you. We are new to this.

We are told that HAM TV could be installed in February on the ISS.

That type of LNA would normally have an internal regulator and filtering. The active device is very unlikely to be using 12V directly.

Any 12V linear or good quality switched mode supply should be OK.
