Open Tuner - HamTV

Post by zr6tg » Tue Apr 04, 2023 7:22 am

I'm quite keen to get a iss hamtv setup going on my side in South Africa. I still need to do some investigation into the feed, etc. But as far as I can tell Open Tuner + BATC minitiouner will decode it just fine. I'm tempted to code up some satellite tracking and doppler control into OT as well. Any thoughts ?

Hi Tom,

Yes, Longmynd has been tested on an IQ file to decode the current HamTV system.

I've done an article in the latest CQ-TV out yesterday about the challenges of receiving it! Loads more info here viewtopic.php?t=4389

If you're looking for challenges to do with Open Tuner you might want to look at the MiniTiouner data record facility - very handy when seeing how well you are tracking the ISS!

All - please post anything more general about HamTV here viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8398

Hi Tom

No need for Doppler correction for HamTV. It's not significant compared with the signal bandwidth.
