Who manages the DX-Spot website?
Who manages the DX-Spot website?
Hello,
Some time ago, I wrote a German translation of the help file and sent it to Phil, requesting that it be added as a PDF to the help page.
Unfortunately, this hasn't been implemented yet, and I haven't received a reply to my follow-up inquiry.
Now I've noticed that there's a link to "Online help is available at the dxspot.tv forum at BATC Forums" that doesn't exist.
Is DX-Spot still being maintained?
Who is the contact person?

Hi Thomas
Thanks for the feedback. As ever, our maintainer is very busy with his real job, but I'll pass your comments on.

Re: Who manages the DX-Spot website?
Hello Dave,
The Dutch D-ATV contest is this coming weekend.
Several German stations will be participating again.
It would be great if the translation could be available then.
Thank you for your Effort.

Re: Who manages the DX-Spot website?
Hello,
Four weeks have now passed.
Unfortunately, the German translation still hasn't been added to the site.
Furthermore, I registered our ATV repeater DB0OV as a regular station and provided its call sign so that it would be displayed as a repeater.
Unfortunately, this hasn't been done either.

Re: Who manages the DX-Spot website?
I propose we drop DX spot entirely from BATC. That would reduce the load on the web maintainer and avoid any future disappointment when our hard working volunteers go on holidays of otherwise don't have the time to provide support.DL5BCA wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 3:10 pmHello,

Re: Who manages the DX-Spot website?
Hi Mike,
That wouldn't make any sense at all. The DX Spot page is used very actively for long-distance contacts and contests.
That's precisely my goal. As a member of the AGAF within the DARC, I want to promote participation in contests. Therefore, the translated user manual is important.
Then I was asked why English, French, Belgian, Dutch, and Italian repeaters are shown on the map, but no German repeaters.
