New website live
All members should have received the following email:
The new BATC website is now live and on-line! All membership data has been transferred to the new site, including your user name, EXCEPT your password, which must be reset before you can access the new site.
To access the new site for the first time simply follow the instructions on this wiki page https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Resetting_your_password
This change only affects the main website and members shop and you will find it on the same URL at https://batc.org.uk – the BATC forum and BATC wiki will remain unchanged.
The new website is easier to use and includes the members shop with a couple of new products, the CQ-TV download area and the new BATC video streamer.
The new streamer is fully working and on your membership summary page you will find your personal streaming channel details - there is draft documentation on the wiki to help you set it up. Please feel free to test and use the facility and help complete the documentation.
Once we are happy the website and members database migration is complete, we will be migrating all streaming channels, including repeaters on to the new streamer. The new streamer has a much higher resolution player and will allow flash and HTML5 streaming, however you will need to change the stream name and RTMP URL of your encoder.
We are currently creating documentation on the wiki for all the facilities on the website - please read this before contacting us will any questions. If this doesn't help please email us at admin@batc.tv and we will try to answer your questions asap but remember we are all volunteers and so there may be a short delay before we respond.
This is a very big step for BATC and we hope you enjoy it

Re: New website live
Congrats on the new website. Excellent job and seems to have been a smooth transition!
I've got streaming working from both Portsdown and vMix with the Flash option ticked in my member's dashboard.
When I change this to HTML5 and try to view the stream on a non-Flash browser (Safari on iOS) I get the "screen with white noise" error message about needing to install or enable Flash.
EDIT: it's working now

Re: New website live
Hi All
Well, after 24 hours, we think that we have resolved most of the teething problems with the new website. Please let me know if you spot anything.
The streamer does need Flash over secure https enabled in your browser so that you can view the stream. The old site used insecure http and you had probably enabled this in the distant past. Full instructions are on the Wiki here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/The_new_streamer.
Our next step is to migrate the Repeater Streams - which can be started now. If you are a repeater keeper and would like to be one of the first, please get in touch with Noel or I and we will give you the instructions (Just being written!).

Re: New website live
Hi Dave
I noticed this morning that my streaming key had changed since yesterday. Was this a one-off or will the keys change regularly as a security measure?
Thanks

Re: New website live
Apologies - we just had a slight interruption to service.
We know what caused it and will find a solution.
Normal service has been resumed

Hi web admin(s)
Is it not possible to have the Es'hail-2 page under the batc.org.uk domain where it would have a navigation menu?
I see you have allocated a subdomain for it.
Regards
Steve

Re: New website live
Hi Steve,
The Es'hail-2 page is a placeholder for where we'll host the Spectrum Viewer and WebSDR. (As well as providing some information that we think might be useful.)
When we commission the Spectrum Viewer and WebSDR, we are planning that they will then be served directly from the ground station at Goonhilly, this is easiest by using a subdomain that we can then change to point at the new IP there.
The page design will likely also change before/at/around that point, but the address won't.

Re: New website live
I am having some issues with the RSS feed. https://www.batc.org.uk/forum/feed.php seems to go to page not found. Local issue or more widespread?
Mike
Edit - seems the address has changed to http://forum.batc.org.uk/feed.php - not sure when that happened or when the old one stopped working.

Re: New website live
Hello and congratulations to all those involved in the upgrade of the website and particularly the streamer.
One of the issues has been the lack of support of the flash streams on android, however tonight I discovered that "Puffin Web Browser" seems to be able to play the flash streams, does anyone know of a downside of using this browser?
If there are no known problems maybe it could added to the Wiki to help out others experiencing troubles watching the flash streams on Android?
Keep up the excellent work,
