Grass Valley hookup help needed

I now have a set of Grass Valley equipment and some cables but cannot get it all to talk together.
I have:
GV Indigo AV Mixer
GV Acapella 8x8 router
GV Turbo IDDR
I have connected the ethernet cables to a switch, the SDI cables per the manuals available online, and they will not interact as expected.
Unfortunately I don't have the control software and GV support is of no help at all.
Any help/advise gratefully received.
