Continental Microwave PL71090 UHF amplifier

Post by G4GUO » Thu Jun 04, 2015 10:45 am

This is a real long shot but does anyone have any information on the above
broadband 100watt UHF TV amplifier. I am after the pin out for the remote
interface. I have been told these unit work well unmodified on 70 cms.

Thanks Dave,

I have figured out which pins are fwd power / reverse power and PA current.
Two pins have 28v on them and one 5.7v as to the rest I am not sure.

It seems to be tuned to the bottom end of the TV band and I have managed to get
> 100 watts of carrier out on 437 Mhz. Not tried it with digital yet.

****** Update Arthur sent me the required information, thanks all. *******

I have 2 of these on the same heatsink with splitter/combiner, works well.

I discarded the control board and just went for 28V supply direct to the RF board and built my own control and relay sequencer etc.

They are ultra linear at 100W 100% duty cycle, but not being FETs only have about 7x gain at 70cm, which is about 1.5dB down on the max gain higher up the TV band on the one I measured.

I have some pics and test results documented but the forum will not allow me to attach it, if you message me your email address I will send it.

There are a few more of these available, PM me email address if interested.
