Those of you of a broadcast engineering background will be saddened to know that BE is to close after 54 years of publication.

That really is very sad and amazing. Will CQ-TV be the last TV Magazine with an Engineering bias?
Maybe there are opportunities here for expansion.

The change of broadcast to another IT operation is clearly nearly complete!
I must admit that doing much with the modern electronics is becoming super difficult, but even so when called upon it still takes a broadcast engineer to actually get the whole lot working again. It seems that much equipment is now considered "throw away" when no longer working properly, and it is probably this which has led to the demise of real broadcast engineering. However my spies report that people who have the skills are still highly demanded, there are not very many still being made!
