I'm planning on restoring an EMI 2001/1 channel back to full working order , the first camera type I was employed to use in the early 1980's.
It's going to be stand alone so I guess i'll need a source of line drive , etc .
It's quite a while since I had to keep 4 of them running in our studio (1991) so can anyone recommend a SPG to lookout for that I will need , or a modern fix to get it scanning again ?
All suggestions appreciated .
Many thanks for your time
Courtyard still make one 490 model , not sure of price yet.
The small item suggested is b and b with 5 similar outputs.
There are a good number of PAL SPGs about surplus, they just need tracing down. A good one to go for is the blue "Seltec" 2U high one, it has the option for all 4 monochrome pulses (the board is usually in the crate) and it is very menderable if it goes wrong.
You could always build one, if you trawl back through the older CQ-TVs you will find several SPG designs.
Good luck with the EMI 2001/1, I would be interested to know how you get on.

Got one to work fine.
Feeding all the correct pulses into the ccu now and the scan failure warning light in the camera head has extinguished : )
Still got a few issues , working through them as time allows.
Major one is the camera head pulse board pulling down the +_18v camera supplies.
Luckily got all the manuals and also managed to borrow an extender board- almost had to make one .... : ))
