I have noticed WIMO in Germany are stocking a DATV DVBS/S2 receiver as a ready built unit from ELAD …you need the minitoune download still .

Before ordering, I know someone who bought one and wasn't very happy with it. There were issues with the LNB supply.

Hi Mike,
Isn't the issue that the LNB supply is simply the supply voltage that is directly connected to the F socket therefore the RX needs an 18v supply for DATV. Also connecting to terrestrial aerials has the probability of shorting the supply.

Hi,
I tried to run on the same software V.0.9.9.1.h on which I have running the original minitiouner since years to run a new ELAD e-tiouner. The software on the PC comes up with the same look an feel , but the setting buttons for the power supply of the LNB´s is grey and cannot be set. Even by supplying via a Bias-T with 18V to the LNB, there is no RX-signal coming in. I have issued a claim ticket at WIMO and sent back the ELAD. Response from WIMO: no error found despite I described very detailled the behaviour.
What´s the difference to the former Minitiouner I bought in the DARC shop, which is running well ?
Is there any software patch available which makes running the ELAD ?

I can confirm the ELAD RX does work on Minitioune software with no problems.
The LNB voltage is whatever the supply voltage is, there is no other way to control that. Have tested with a bias tee and that works fine on QO100, there must have been a fault on the one you had.

The unit appears to be to the BATC V2 design but with the DC-DC convertor and FTDI module laid out onto the main PCB.
If you don't want the power supply voltage appearing on the LNB connectors, there are individual links to disconnect these connections.
It's a nicely made unit if you don't want the hassle of making up something yourself.
