OLED Display issue
OLED Display issue
Hi I have just fitted an Oled display to my minitiouner V2
It works fine but when I switch off the minitiouner the Oled display stays on
I have taken the supply for the Oled from J2.
Only when I remove the usb connection does the display switch off is this normal as no one seems to have commented.

Re: OLED Display issue
Yes. Take from the other 3.3V supply if you want it to power off with the 12V. You currently have it running off the 3.3V FTDI module regulator.

Hi Mike, Could you be so kind as to show me the connections for the Oled including any info I would need to run it. Can I use a 2 inch Oled screen too or must it be thee 1 inch type?G1LWX wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:53 pmHi I have just fitted an Oled display to my minitiouner V2

Re: OLED Display issue
Hi Paul,
If you look at the minitiouner.ini file it will tell you what OLEDs are supported. It has been a long time since I looked at this but I think there is a larger version supported. There is also a large TFT supported by the Pro2. I don't know if that works with the minitiouner v2. It might, but the screen is too large to fit the standard box front panel.
The connections needed are 3.3V, Ground, I2C Clock and I2C data. This was covered in CQTV but can I find it? I will look.
Note, although it seems like a good idea, in practice I never found a use for it as it tells you what you already see on the screen. If you had a remote system, where the tuner was far from the screen, e.g. a repeater, then this would be useful, but most of us are looking at the screen to see the images.
Mike
Edit - from the config file, looks like a 2.2, 2.4 and 2.6 inch display is supported. The 2.6 is I think the TFT. You will have to trawl the posts from JP to get the model number, the display doesn't seem to be covered in the PDF manual which comes with the full version.
[Display]
; OLED 1.3" : yes or no
; Digole 1.44" or 1.88" => Digole=14 // Digole 2.2" or 2.4" => Digole=22 // 2.6" => Digole=26 // NO Digole => Digole=0
OLED=yes
Digole=26
LCD=0

Re: OLED Display issue
And if you use a Portsdown or Ryde as your RX its redundant anyway.....
I liked it when I used MT on the PC though.....
