Oscar 100 Live Tune software

Post by g8gtz » Sun Dec 08, 2019 6:09 pm

Tuning to QO100 signals can be tedious using the MiniTiouner controls, particularly when they only appear for a few seconds.

To overcome this, Rob M0DTS has developed a small application designed to run on a PC that grabs the fft data from the BATC Wideband Spectrum monitor page. This then allows the user to click on signals which automatically configures Minitioune to the required settings to receive the signal via udp control.

More details and download are available here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/QO100_Live_Tune

That's really an excellent piece of software!

I like these early Chistmas gifts.

As I am playing with longmynd software in Ubuntu Linux, have just managed to modify John's G7JTT script to run in Ubuntu. ( It looks like the CQ-TV font has changed some characters, or there is a difference between nano and Ubuntu? )

I was wondering if the live tune source code from Rob M0DTS be compiled to run in Linux and if so how?

Hi Adrian,

I'm not too sure but i think you can try a 'emulator' called mono and try it, if i get time i'll give it a try myself.

Thanks for the shout, yes mono does seem to work, I get an error something about canberra-gtk-module, but it runs.

I can control my minitiouner-express with longmynd OK but stuggling to control the Win 10 laptop with minitioune software, which I think could be a firewall issue.

Thanks again for the shout.
