Just bought a NUC and I'll be installing Windows 10. It will be interesting to see if I get the same issue.

Hi G4NRT,

Have you had success while buying and installing the HEVC extension from MS?
It seems that I lost the extentions too while installing the latest Win10 pro update....

Hi Rainer,

Well, I paid my 79p and downloaded and now installed the Microsoft HVEC CODEC.

No change. I’m still not able to render video inside Minitioune.

I’m hoping against hope that someone can find a way to fix this. My entire DATV project is on hold until they do!

I look forward to hearing. If it works then I may just delete everything and start again ....

Regarding Minitioune to VLC, this works for me, with both software on the same computer.
In the minitiouneConfig.ini
Add “;” to this line, e.g. ;TS_AddrUDP=230.0.0.10
Remove the “;” on this line TS_AddrUDP=127.0.0.1
Change port number to
TS_Port=1234

In VLC network protocol URL use, udp://@:1234

Regarding the H265/HVEC CODEC, As far as I can tell Minitioune uses a built in “VH265” codec and cannot use the Microsoft one.

Hope this helps
John

Hi John,

I have no problem getting Minitioune to VLC to work on my old Windows 10 PC. It will not, however, work on the new one - even with the same settings per your post. The VLC windows remains resolutely blank!

When I run Minitioune on my old PC it all works fine and if I use the "Test My Minitioune" application I get all green lights but the box where I should see either the QSL card or the rotating BATC logo remain black! It is definitely to do with my new implementation of Windows 10 on my new Intel NUC.

You'll need to plough through all four pages to see the entire saga ...

Hi David

Looking on Jean-Pierre F6DZP website http://www.vivadatv.org , he suggests to someone with similar problems that the problem is with “Windows that cannot render the video using Directshow.”

The guy never got back to him so I'm assuming he fixed it.

I guess you will have tried the following, but just in case. :geek:

Try installing the latest LAV filters as Administrator

https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/releases

It seems that Directshow is not installed automatically with Windows 10 any-more but the drivers appear to be in the following Codec installers. ffdshow and the K-Lite Codec Pack Full

Apart from that I'm out of ideas, the only other thing I can suggest is running the affected programs as Administrator, in case its a file access problem.

Hope you get it fixed

Hello David,
New NUC installed Windows 10 Pro, then from the Intel NUC website downloaded and installed all the Intel specific drivers.
Next installed latest LAV filters and ran the usrx file. Minitioune software is all working as it should.
No additional decoders installed and no complications.

Hi John,

Yep! Latest set of LAV filters v74.1 (I’m away from the computer so that’s from memory). Everything has been run as Admin and without.

I put a detailed description of my problem on Pierre’s forum. Dozens of views but not a single answer!

I’m also out of ideas so shelving the entire project for the time being pending someone else having the issue and solving it!

Thanks in any case for your advice!!
