At Friedrichshafen this year, the Reseau des Emetteurs Français (www.r-e-f.org) were showing the new Minitioune Pro Dual DATV receiver. This has on board switching for horizontal and vertical polarisation, 22KHz generation for the higher frequency band as well as 2 USB ports. The cost is €100 ready-built. Are BATC going to import them?

Hi

Sorry no, for reasons described in the article on page 9 of CQ-TV 264 due out today BATC shop will not be stocking these - we only sell items not available elsewhere and in order to avoid VAT registration we will not be taking on any new high value items this year.

However, there is an article in CQ-TV 264 describing an add on daughter board for the BATC V2 PCB to add a 2nd channel and several people are working on another PCB to add current limiting, 12 / 18v and H/V switching and we will stock this once the design is available :-)

Just looked at CQ-TV 264
USB Daughter board looks fantastic, cannot wait to order one when it's available in the shop!

Thanks for that Noel. Speaking to both the current and past presidents of REF (F5DJL & F1TE) it seems the same situation applies in France. Perhaps a commercial tie-up is the answer because the political solution (a law change for clubs) will take far too long?
