Testing

I am currently using a 60cm dish and Octagon LNB (purchased about 4 years ago when they were cheap and avaiable). I have now completed my Minitiouner V2 and and am at the stage I need to test on a live signal. The signal from QO-100 wideband looks to be marginal when I use my SDR receiver or spectrum analyser. Is it possible to test on any of the stronger broadcast sats?

At the same position as QO-100, try 11996H, SR27500, DVB-S for France 24 / BBC Arabic. The LNB needs to be twisted 90 degrees if you're feeding it with 12v.
For Sky at 28.2E, try ITV on 10758V, SR22000, DVB-S with the LNB the normal way.

Thanks Brian.
I wasn't sure whether the sofware would cope with broadcast settings. I will try it all out over the next day or so.

As an update I am pleased to say that I never needed strong signals as I was copying the beacon with near perfect sound and video. Not bad for a 60cm dish. It has been running for several hours without any problems. Does need a fast PC though.

Interesting, my MT runs fine on a tablet PC Lynx12C64 with an Intel Atom at 1.75GHz max. Not exactly high spec, but it does have USB3 and excellent battery life for portable use.

Set it up and tested on the domestic dish on ITV.
Very good picture and proves it all works. as per

Now to set up the other dish.......!
