Use with TBS tuners
Use with TBS tuners
Is it possible to use the MiniTioune software with a 3rd party tuner, such as the USB-driven TBS5925? I thought I saw a note about doing this quite a few years back.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Use with TBS tuners
Hi no its not possible to use tbs cards with Minitioune, but it is possible to receive Es'hail-2 transponders with certain TBS cards and the correct software unfortunately the 5925 is not on the list of working cards.
Re: Use with TBS tuners
I can confirm that the TBS6902 is okay for down to SR1000 on Es'hail-2 transponders, but not directly, the range will need shifting up accordingly if using a standard universal LNB.
It's not clear if it can receive anything below that SR rate, as, at the moment, I can't lock anything below that, even on my Minitioune rx (the latter is presumably down to those signals not being strong enough for me).

Hi i am unsure what chip-set the TBS 6902 uses if it uses the STV09X chip it will work fine you need to download Crazyscan 1.0.2.147 and Stream-reader 1.2.4.36 in SR ini fileG4GHD wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 6:09 pmI can confirm that the TBS6902 is okay for down to SR1000 on Es'hail-2 transponders, but not directly, the range will need shifting up accordingly if using a standard universal LNB.

;! Change IF range (default 950-2150MHz)
IFStart=800
IFStop=2500
;LNBMid=6000
;LNBStk=21000
However if your struggling with Minitoune you will struggle with TBS maybe time for a larger dish ?.
Re: Use with TBS tuners
Not sure which chip it uses, but thanks for the info. It's nowhere as expensive as the more featured 6903, so I'm guessing not.
BTW, when using Crazyscan, it tends to lock onto stronger signals off of the designated frequency. Not sure if that can be fixed in the settings however.
I use a 1.2M dish, which should be adequate, however it's slightly misaligned, so I'm in the process of correcting that.

Re: Use with TBS tuners
Hi maybe not but if you have a minitoune its not worth looking in to, unsure what your doing wrong with crazyscan it works great if your dish and skew is out it will give errors, 1,2 dish should be fine most of the time good luck with the alignment here is a frequency with my DB from 26E from my 1,2 dish give you something to aim for when aligning.G4GHD wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 6:05 pmNot sure which chip it uses, but thanks for the info. Re: Use with TBS tuners
Thanks, no problem at all with the usual transponders at 26E. I have found when using CrazyCat within SmartDVB that it occasionally locks onto the wrong feed when scanning on particular frequencies, presumably it locks onto the strongest found nearby to the target frequency, as it appears to be in blindscan mode permanently.
